As part of the SAASTA program students were required to plan and prepare a healthy meal suitable for an athlete and serve to an invited guest. The meal chosen was a chicken chilli wrap. Each student was given a job involving the preparation of the meal. The jobs they were given were purchasing ingredients, setting the table, preparation of the meal - and cleaning up of course!
Students had a special visit from Toni Howard, head office of SAASTA and Andrew Gravestocks, Principal of Maitland Area School who both dined and enjoyed the meal. Toni was really impressed and would like to congratulate everyone on the event. Her feedback to the team was glowing! She was particularly taken with the numbers of community members present. One of the SAASTA students Dylan Walker said “the meal was enjoyable, and it was good to have the community members there supporting us”.
In the end it was a big success and all the students had a great day. We look forward to the students achieving their assessments and goals.
