Our annual Christmas Assembly drew a record crowd of parents and families who gathered on Wednesday December 11 in the PAC to celebrate the end of the year with the R-7 students.
With nearly thirty items on the programme, the afternoon was packed with singing, dancing (well done Miss Norman!), jokes, plays, student-videos, music performances, the 5/6 Band and the Festival Choir.
Father Christmas made an appearance, courtesy of the local police and helped us present the Classroom Christmas Door competition.
Thank you to all the families who attended and supported their children, thanks to the PA crew for coping with a technically difficult programme and thanks to Debbie Schwartz for her support and help throughout the day.
The R-7 Classes decorated their classroom doors in festive style this week in our second annual Christmas Door-Decorating Competition. The doors were once again imaginative and stylish, with top honours in our FaceBook poll taken out by 2A. All classes received certificates from Santa at our Christmas Assembly and personally signed by the big man himself.
The Year 3, 4 and 5s travelled to Ardrossan for the annual Diamond Cricket competition. The weather was cool, windy but fly-free as the students played a round-robin set of matches. Both teams played well, with good sportsmanship, determinination and skill on display. Congratulations to Ardrossan for their outright win on the day and to Ardrossan teacher Nick Marsh for his organisation.
A big thank you to everyone (especially our Deputy Beth Hector) who made Grandies Day 2013 such as success. Thank you to everyone who visited the school to see their grandchildren and share the afternoon with them. A big shout-out as well to those who visited to spend time with children whose own grandparents were unable to visit. There was lots to see and do, with Halloween Songs from the Year 3/4s, traditional games with the JPs, media across the decades in Year 2, PE, Mathletics, iPads, art and craft, Tech Studies, Ag Studies and more. A big thank you to Anna Taheny and students for the afternoon tea, to Debbie Debbie Schwartz for conducting the Festival Choir and to Mr Gravestocks for leading the principal's tour

Certificate 3 - Sport and Recreation students took on the role of coach for a lesson with the Year 3/4's.
The Certificate 3 students did a fantastic job at coaching the class by keeping them engaged in a range of Basketball drills/games. The Year 3/4 student's loved having the opportunity to be coached by the group and are looking forward to doing it all again in a few weeks time. I would like to congratulate the Certificate 3 students in the way they conducted themselves throughout the session they were very professional whilst also having a fun vibe about them!
They are all going to make terrific coaches in the future!!
