The SRC would like to sincerely thank the 14 students and staff member who participated in the 40 Hour Famine Project from home. Collectively $422.00 was raised by this group. We conducted our ‘Go without Day’ on the 26th August, and raised $305.80 by allowing students to wear casual clothes for $2. An additional donation box was also circulated on the day.
During SRC class meetings conducted earlier in the term each class elected to ‘go without’ an item or activity as their way of supporting and making a stand for global hunger.
40 Hour Famine
The SRC are very happy to report that the Maitland Area School Community raised $747.80 in total this year for the World Vision 40 Hour Famine Project. The SRC team congratulate all students for their altruism in wanting to make a ‘stand’ and give up something to help address global hunger.
The money we raised can provide assistance in meaningful ways. The Impact Icons displayed are some of these ways.
Well done everyone and thank you for your support.
Term 4 Bandanas
The SRC have elected to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation next term.
During weeks 1 to 3 the SRC are holding an ‘Elastic Band In the Jar’ guessing competition. More information will be sent home about this in week 1 next term.
The SRC will also be selling Canteen Bandannas during weeks 1 and 2 leading up to National Bandanna Day on Friday 28th October.
The bandannas are still $4 each with some great new designs this year!
