Earlier this year students from this and many other schools across the country applied for a 2012 Defence Technical Scholarship and Curtis Blythe in Year 11 was awarded one .
The DTS programme provides a financial incentive to eligible Year 11 and 12 students to stay at school and finish their education whilst undertaking Maths and English and a trade or technical related subject, suitable for further study and training for a technical trade in the Australian Defence Force.
To be successful winners had to complete an intensive application process demonstrating their knowledge of technical trades and describe in detail what they would do as a tradesperson in a real life crisis situation.
It was a competitive selection process and with over 2300 applications from across Australia. Congratulations to Curtis who was presented with a certificate and cheque for $2000 as a successful applicant.
