Last Monday we spent the day reviewing where we are at as a site in comparison to the standards and targets we set at the beginning of the year and reviewing the results of the student, parent and staff surveys conducted recently.
It was really pleasing to see the growth that has occurred within cohorts of students in literacy and numeracy. Thankyou to Steve Heyes, Numeracy Coach, and Ali Newbold, Literacy Coach, for the role they have played in our site and in preparing the data. To me, there have been improvements at Maitland Area School in both literacy and numeracy, and our capacity to refer to individual student data and differentiate learning programmes for students.
The other component of the day involved reviewing the results of the opinion surveys that were conducted recently. Once further analysis has been completed work will be undertaken by the SRC, Governing Council and staff to prioritise actions and publish results. Thank you to our parent and student representatives for taking part in a very valuable day.
