It was wonderful to extend both the number of events and timing for our Splash Carnival this year to accommodate the Year 7s who are now part of the primary school. Again, it was lovely to welcome students from Point Pearce Aboriginal School who joined with our Reception to Year 2 classes in their events.

The weather was kind to us and the crowd was as enthusiastic as the competitors. I must make special mention of the house captains who assisted very capably with the organisation and were extremely supportive of younger students in the pool.

Congratulations to Spencer House who won the day with a score of 33 points, followed by Yorke with 27 points and Vincent with 24 points.

Mrs Julie Adams, whom the cup is named after, was on hand for the presentation to captains Jackson Bruce and Georgie Robinson. Thank you to all parents and other family members who joined us on the day, creating a great atmosphere to accompany the excellent sporting behaviour displayed by the students.

With our 2011 Twilight Sports Carnival only a few weeks away 6-12 students have been involved in regular athletics practice.

Long-jump, javelin, discus, shot-put and long jump stations have been set up on the Secondary oval with students rotating between them.

Many students are already showing improvement and it's been terrific to see older students coaching and encouraging the younger ones.
