Welcome back to the 2012 school year. I hope that everyone had a relaxing, enjoyable Christmas / New Year break.
New StaffI would like to welcome Scott Moore as an English teacher and Brooke Edginton as a Junior Primary teacher to our site. To date we have been unsuccessful in employing a Tech Studies teacher. In order to ensure that we can deliver the curriculum to the students we have a Permanent Relief Teacher here currently. Barry Hajisarva is filling that role for the first few weeks with Sean Carroll assisting with welding workshops for our senior students. Congratulations go to Leigh Rothe who has been appointed the Secondary Co-ordinator and to Helen Moloney who has been appointed as a full-time, Reception to Year 12 Counsellor.
As many of you may have noticed we have a number of new buses servicing our school. All of the new buses have air-conditioning, seat belts and security cameras. I am sure that the students are appreciating the amenities! In order to maintain their current good order the contractors have asked that no food or drink (other than water) be consumed on the buses. If you have any questions relating to buses, Fiona-Lee Colliver is taking over there co-ordination whilst Denise White is on leave. The new contractors are also seeking to develop a pool of drivers in the area. If interested please contact Fiona-Lee in the first instance.
It was great to see the vast majority of our students in uniform on the first day of school. Homegroup teachers will be following up with parents/ guardians if students are not in uniform. A reminder that students are expected to wear hats at recess and lunch in the first term. Hats are available for purchase in the bookroom for $7.
