Maitland Area School

ANZAC Day is an area of study within subject areas such as SOSE and English.

Each year our students contribute to the display in the Town Hall, showcasing what they have learnt.

Maitland Progress Association kindly recognises this with prize money for the posters presented.

Amelia Honner, in Year 9 was acknowledged for her poster on the theme of “Lest We Forget" and Year 6/7 Tuck won Most Outstanding piece for the paper poppies they made in SOSE and on which wrote the names of people from the district who had fought in for our country in World War 1. These poppies formed a display along with a copy of the poem “In Flanders Fields” that they studied in English.
