Maitland Area School

Maitland | Yorke Peninsula | South Australia

Mr & Mrs Trevor Greenslade received a letter in the mail from a Year 1 student named Avery in Texas USA. Avery is the grandchild of friends.

Avery’s class had read the story Flat Stanley. In the story Stanley had been flattened when a bulletin board fell on him and his parents posted him to California so he could have a holiday.

Each member of Avery’s class then made a “Stanley” and Avery sent her Stanley to Maitland. Flat Stanley visited some of our classes and had his photo taken attending a variety of lessons.

These photos were printed and Mr & Mrs Greenslade have posted them back to Avery with Flat Stanley. We are sure she and her classmates will enjoy seeing Stanley with students and especially with Rex, the blue tongue lizard in Mr Tuck’s class.
