Photo GalleryOn Friday 4th December, we were entertained by the R-6 classes during the Christmas Assembly. Each class performed an item to a large crowd of parents, families and friends. Mrs Cockburn’s R/1/2 class performed ”I want a hippopotamus for Christmas”. Mrs McCauley’s R/1/2 class performed “10 Crocodiles in a bed”. The Year 3 Moloney/Norman class recited the poem “ ‘Twas the night before Christmas”, with a visit from Father Christmas and his reindeer. Mr Turner and Mrs Pointon’s Year 4 class took us around the world and showed us how Christmas is celebrated in different countries. Miss Secomb and Mrs Hector’s Year 5 class had an Aussie theme to their song. They sang a song about a Christmas barbecue to the tune of Advance Australia Fair. The Year 6 Tuck/Derrington class performed two items. First, the very talented guitar group played “Good King Wenceslas”, and then they sang a song about “Rodney the red nosed robot”. They had a huge robot in their act and also a special robot voice singing along with their song.

Between class acts, the Junior Choir and Festival Choirs led the crowd in some Christmas singing. It was wonderful to see so many people getting involved and enjoying the atmosphere of the assembly. A special mention must go to the Junior Primary students and the children from the audience who sang “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Santa Claus is coming to town”. Their singing was just fantastic and their actions were bright and enthusiastic.

Thankyou to all the staff, in particular Mr Tim Tuck who organised the sound and Miss Secomb who coordinated the event. It was a great success, enjoyed by all.

The Reception to Year 7 students enjoyed a wonderful performance of the Christmas pantomime ‘Cinderella’ last Tuesday.

The play, put on by the Year 9 Drama group under the direction of Mrs Wundersitz, have been rehearsing throughout this term and were keen to present it to an audience.

The comic show was hugely enjoyable with terrific performances by all the regular cast as well as a last-minute cameo by Mrs Hector of the ‘Queen Mother’ .

Well done to the+ Year 9 class, it was an entertaining and energetic show!
